No. Niklo prepares and checks your file; you fill in VIDEX with the checked answers, register on the mission's waiting list, attend the appointment and pay the fee yourself. We give you step-by-step guidance for each of those.

Which insurance do I need?

Travel health insurance of at least EUR 30,000 that covers every Schengen state, not only Germany, for your whole stay, including repatriation. The mission accepts policies from a published list of Pakistani insurers; Niklo checks yours against it.

Is there a minimum bank balance?

No published one. The officer looks for money that has been in the account for a while and matches your salary slips and employer letter, and for a budget that fits your itinerary. Six months of statements from the account your income is paid into is the evidence that works; a large deposit shortly before applying is the evidence that fails.

What if I was refused before?

Declare it, from any country and however old, and upload the refusal letter. The mission checks the Schengen visa system regardless, and an undeclared refusal is treated as fraud. A declared one with a short honest explanation of what has changed is survivable.

Can I appeal a refusal?

Not any more. Germany abolished the remonstration procedure on 1 July 2025. A refusal is final and the only way forward is a new application, which is why Niklo's review is thorough before you submit.

About this visa

The Schengen short-stay visa lets you spend up to 90 days in any 180-day period in Germany and the other Schengen states, for tourism, visiting family or friends, business meetings and trade fairs, or medical treatment. One visa covers all of those; what changes is the evidence the German mission asks for, and Niklo asks only for the documents your purpose needs.

The application is made on the VIDEX online form, printed and signed, and lodged in person at the German Embassy in Islamabad (Punjab, KP, AJK and Islamabad) or the Consulate General in Karachi (Sindh and Balochistan). There is no visa application centre: appointments come from the mission's free waiting list. Germany refuses about one in three applications from Pakistan — the best rate of any Schengen mission — and since July 2025 a refusal cannot be appealed, so the file has to be right the first time.

More nights in Germany than in any other Schengen state, on a confirmed round-trip reservation with hotels or a host covering every night.

Invited applicants

A host's letter of obligation from the Ausländerbehörde, a German company's invitation with its commercial register extract, or a hospital's acceptance letter.

This is not the right visa if

You plan to stay longer than 90 days, work, or study a course of more than 90 days — that is a national (category D) visa.
Another Schengen country is your main destination — apply to that country's mission.
You only change planes inside the transit area at Frankfurt or Munich — that is an airport transit visa.

Flight reservation
A confirmed round-trip reservation or e-ticket itinerary covering the whole stay. We read the dates, route and booking reference off it. Reserve; do not buy until the visa is issued.
Travel health insurance
At least EUR 30,000, covering every Schengen state for your whole stay, from an insurer on the mission's list. The original must be signed.
Biometric passport photograph
Under 6 months old, plain light background, 35 x 45 mm. You will need two prints; upload one so we can check it.

Invitation from the company in Germany
Under 3 months old, on letterhead, naming you and the purpose, with the Handelsregisterauszug, the signatory's authority and their passport copy attached. One PDF.
Trade fair stall payment or ticket
Exhibitors: stall rental confirmation, invoice and full proof of payment (also through TDAP). Visitors: entrance tickets, or the organiser's confirmation that tickets are only sold at the venue.
Business reference letter from your company in Pakistan
On letterhead: your position, the purpose and dates of the trip, permission for it, and whether the company pays your travel and accommodation.
Company bank statements and FBR tax acknowledgements
Six months of company statements and the FBR acknowledgements of tax returns for the last two fiscal years, in one PDF.
Chamber of Commerce certificate and recommendation letter
Required if you are self-employed or own the business: your current-year membership certificate and the chamber's recommendation letter for this trip. Optional if you are an employee.
Letter from the hospital or doctor in Germany
Under 3 months old, confirming your appointment, the expected duration and the payment position.
Medical certificate from your doctor in Pakistan
Diagnosis, the treatment required and your medical history attached.
Proof of payment for the treatment
The transfer receipt, or the hospital's confirmation that the costs are covered.
Salary slips (last 3 months)
Your last three payslips in one PDF. The mission asks for them with the bank statement.

No. Niklo's fee is for preparing and checking your application. The mission's fee of EUR 90 (EUR 45 for children aged 6 to 12) is paid in rupees, in cash, at the counter on the day of your appointment, and is not refunded if the visa is refused.
